Little Man of the House

Keith left this morning for two weeks in California, to take his final seminar at Fuller Theological Seminary. We’re doing okay so far, except for the fact that I’m still awake at 2am and except for that bedtime mutiny a few hours ago. But besides that, we’re okay.

So tonight at the dinner table, I asked Adam to please pray over our dinner since he’s the man of the house the next couple weeks. He looked at me a tiny bit puzzled and then graced us with this:

“Lord, thank you for this food, and thank you that I love my family. And I just pray for that man in our house. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

There was plenty of loving laughter after that prayer.

Oh my GOSH, no one told me that having kids would be THIS much fun.

Lisa is a grateful, born-again follower of Jesus Christ who has spent her adult life on the Gospel in several global contexts. She is the wife of one wonderful, jungle-gym of a man, who is to her the single most ravishing piece of flesh on planet earth (stolen good-heartedly from Christine Caine). She is a dedicated home educator to their four beautiful children, ages 6 to 12, whom she would be happy to gush over any time. She is an avid reader and a storyteller, an aspiring writer, a missionary to the nations and a singer of His praises, a loyal friend, an obsessive-compulsive Googler, and comedienne extraordinaire on her best days. She would also like to think that she is a loyal and loving, truth-telling friend.

What a sweetie! I will be praying for you over these next 2 weeks!

When the title was “little man of the house”, my mind went to the littlest man of the house, so for a split second I thought that was a picture of Benny and freaked out at how much he’s changed. I was relieved when it was Adam.
