There she goes again, absolutely blowing me away, and completely unexpectedly. Just now, we heard 6 year-old Claire faintly in the background singing something in her room (she often does this). And then she comes into the dining room with two sheets of paper, and tells us that she wrote a song. As I read this paper, my eyes filled with tears and my heart with such gratitude to God for giving me such a special daughter.
Here’s what the papers said:
“Oh don’t drift away from me.
I’m on my way.
Oh, I believe you.
Oh, I love you.
You are my God.
Don’t drift away from me.
Oh, I love you.
Oh, I love you.
You are my God.”

About cashclan
Lisa is a grateful, born-again follower of Jesus Christ who has spent her adult life on the Gospel in several global contexts. She is the wife of one wonderful, jungle-gym of a man, who is to her the single most ravishing piece of flesh on planet earth (stolen good-heartedly from Christine Caine). She is a dedicated home educator to their four beautiful children, ages 6 to 12, whom she would be happy to gush over any time. She is an avid reader and a storyteller, an aspiring writer, a missionary to the nations and a singer of His praises, a loyal friend, an obsessive-compulsive Googler, and comedienne extraordinaire on her best days. She would also like to think that she is a loyal and loving, truth-telling friend.
How beautiful. I’m sure you had something to do with her specialness 🙂
Wow!! That’s so sweet and awesome! I didn’t know anything about being far from God when I was her age.
I agree with Shelly. I think both you and Keith have set a good example for Claire and taught her about the Lord. Your efforts are bearing fruit in her life. God put such a wonderful, precious spirit in her and has drawn her to himself with his irresistible grace! Thank you, Lord! It will be interesting to wait and see what the Lord has in store for Claire’s life! (Of course, the same applies for the other kids too. But, we’re talking about Claire right now.)
You have a little worship song writer on your hands! I’m thinking that we should arrange for her and my Nate (who will be 7 on Wed.) to get married one day :)!! He is ALWAYS singing to God, but I don’t ever think he has written it down! You have a very special girl…you’re a great mom!!
